How to make a Mason Jar Double Chocolate Cookie Gift


Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Servings: 30 cookies
  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Ingredients:
  • ¾ cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup White Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 ¾ cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • Supplies:
  • 1 quart wide mouth canning jar with lid or clean dry glass mayonnaise jar with lid
  • 18 inches of ribbon
  • 8 to 10 inch circle of fabric
  • Recipe card
  • Paper punch
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Sifter
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mixing Spoon
Step1
Wash and dry Mason jar and lid. Set aside.
Step2
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into large mixing bowl. Set aside.
Step3
Measure ¾ cup brown sugar, place in dry Mason jar and pack down.
Step4
Measure ½ cup white sugar, place Mason jar and pack down.
Step5
Measure1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa, place Mason jar and pack down. Inside of jar will be dusty. Wipe with a paper towel.
Step6
Measure 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, place Mason jar and pack down.
Step7
Place flour mixture in Mason jar, pack down, and screw lid on tightly.

Copy this portion of recipe onto a recipe card –
Double Chocolate Cookies
1 Jar of Double Chocolate Cookies Mix
¾ cup Soft Butter
1 Egg
1 ½ teaspoon Vanilla

Preheat oven to 350*F.
In small mixing bowl blend butter, egg and vanilla
Pour cookie mix in a large mixing bowl. Stir.
Add egg/butter mixture to large mixing bowl and stir until well blended.
Drop cookie mixture by the teaspoon onto cookie sheets sprayed with cooking spray. Bake for10 to 12 minutes.
Step9
In the upper left hand corner of the recipe card punch a hole. Take ribbon through hole. Place fabric circle on jar lid. Tie ribbon around the top of jar to secure fabric. Your gift is done.
